I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 1st Corinthians 15:50 NIV
Oh, how he enjoyed when his friends came to visit him. They would get out their Bibles and look at texts together. It was a blessing to be able to hear words of encouragement or share enlightenment they had had. But there was one dark spot on their meetings. The man´s friends believed that God was going to return. But that the result would be our same world, and our same bodies, with only a change in our current governments.
Jesus has told us He is coming back to take us to a new home. (John 14:2) Things will be better than we have dreamed. (1 Corinthians 2:9) Those who truly choose a Kingdom that is not like the ones we know here on earth will witness this change. Are we going to be among them? Do we want to be? Now is the time to make sure. Have we set our hopes on flesh and blood? If we really have set our hopes in Jesus Christ, we have set our hopes on something higher. What rises from the grave is a miracle from God! It is likened to a butterfly after the cocoon, a tree after the seed, or the angels. (Mark 12:25) Can we sense our souls racing at the thought of a new birth? Does our spirit soar at the call to higher and more spiritual ends than mere flesh and blood?
We cannot fathom the spiritual future You have prepared for us, but we put our trust in You. Reassure us of a resurrection beyond our wildest dreams! Lift our hopes, we pray!
