To Suffer for Christ

To Suffer for Christ

We can easily think that suffering for Christ only happens to those who live where others do not believe in God. They are made to suffer rejection and oppression for their faith in God. But the truth is that although we may all experience some kind of hostility to our belief in Christ, that is not the greater burden the true Christian bears. The people who truly have chosen God over the world will gladly accept the same rejection Jesus experienced before them. The thing that weighs the real men and women of God down today is the pain they feel over any separation between them and their Savior. There are still a few, who carry a great burden to be bowing directly in the presence of the Lord. They see and are greatly pained to see any distance between their heart and the heart of Jesus. If the Holy Spirit is not sweeping them away with thrilling revelations, if they cannot feel the Love of their Life right there with them, then they are pained. The clamorous world we live in will try to remove this burden from us. But, we can press on and yearn for more of the Lord with us too!

Very true. In our journey of faith we had nothing to hang on to but Jesus. He is our Beloved who cared for us when no one else did. Rejecting the world in favor of Christ is neither easy nor popular but necessary. Our family could not stand to be separated from Him even for a moment but that will not happen. He has placed us in the palm of His hand and we are safe.

    Good blog post. Thank you.
