One inevitable error on our part is to constantly assume that to have validity, something must be measured up to another person.
For example, when we make a wonderful discovery inside our hearts towards God, it is completely natural for us to want to share that discovery with another human being. This is highly commendable and shows selflessness. But when we need to pass this new discovery before the approval of another person, this becomes a stumbling block to us.
The Spirit will teach us and wants to guide us into the deeper truths of the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. But it will not depend on another person´s opinion or our ability to convince them.
God speaks to us and we need to listen and draw nearer still. Those who have gone far in attaining access to the presence of God are those who cultivated their response to the Spirit´s encouraging and instruction. We should never waste this moment of revelation or closeness to the Lord, in attempting to seek our fellow men´s response.
The Divine has turned Its attention towards you! Don´t wait to direct that attention anywhere else. But revel in it and let it lift you ever upwards, closer to Him.
Blessed are you when the Glory of all Glories shines upon you in living experience, return the favor and turn yourself entirely back to Him. There will be plenty of time for that light to seep out to those around. The discovery was meant for you and the closeness to be shared between you and the Divine.
Those around you will not have to approve or disapprove of what you saw or felt there with the Lord. They are called to be looking just as intently as you are towards that ¨Other¨ source. But don´t let them steal that blessing that could have been yours.
We all do this; the Spirit showed me how I was doing it. Please Lord, direct me to you alone regardless of whether others are with me or not. Never let me lose one blessing or one moment with you in seeking the approval of any other fellow sinner.
To You be the glory Lord, shine on us today.
In Jesus´ name,
Amen
