Yes, He Does Want To Heal

At that he was moved with pity, and he stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him: “I want to, Be made clean.”  Mark 1:41 (Reference Bible)

We fallen beings got it all wrong.  When we were designed, sin did not live within us.  Unfortunately we let it in and all our race has had to struggle with which impulses to follow.  Some are worthy and lift up God, but many are not.  Sometimes it is difficult to see exactly where we are wrong.  This is why the Holy Spirit is essential to instruct us in the ways of the Divine and show us the Way to the Father and the Son.

One fine example of our natural fallen shortcomings is our low impression of God and of Jesus.  We tend to think of Jesus or His Father needing to be persuaded into doing things.  Now it is true that interceding prayer is vital to our spiritual health.  But that is not to convince God, but to do whatever secret work is needed within us to bring us to the point where God can work freely in and around us.  Our God is Right.  He is completely righteous.  He is Love itself.  Before any fallen being could have a notion towards love, that being would have needed to be moved or inclined in that direction by this Love.

So when it says that Jesus was moved with compassion, it does not mean that He needed to be changed from a different opinion, but rather that He expressed what was already in His mind and heart to do.  Jesus´ words demonstrate this point perfectly when He says, “Yes, I am willing.”  He shows us what He is like, not what He did on one given occasion when His arm had been twisted enough.

Another great misconception is that Jesus found it beneficial to heal a few people from their infirmities.  God and His Son have certain qualities and attributes.  One of these attributes is that when they come in contact with other beings, if the response they find in those other beings is correct, than those beings are marked.  A positive effect is made upon any being which truly comes into contact with the Divine.  Some choose to resist this change and suppress healing, but those who would open themselves to it, would be made cleaner from the experience.

Let any man or woman approach God or His Son Jesus Christ and that encounter will heal the seeking soul in some way.  This is a natural effect in the spiritual realm, but one we fail to realize in our fallen state.  It starts from the first stirring one feels for coming unto the Lord, and is a constantly made better the further we sincerely approach God.  Our disease today is that often we do not realize the poor state of health we are in or do not really desire to change from our ways of thinking and look outside of ourselves for healing.

Dear Jesus, we come like the leper of old.  We want to bring ourselves into a state where we come to You to ask for Your healing.  We know You want to and we know that by our asking and our seeking, we demonstrate to You that it is what we really want too.  Please bring us to that place dear Lord.  Even if it means that You must afflict us with whatever kind of uncleanness.  Just be sure that Your work is effective and that we may come into Your presence to be cleaned today.

Amen
