No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. 1st Corinthians 9:13 NIV
The small party set out along the trail. They were only a few kilometers from the resort where they were staying. They could see the buildings above them on the hill. The climb wouldn’t take them long, they thought. But very soon the Malaysian Jungle closed in around them. Warnings of not to wander began to haunt them. The group began to imagine the dangers that this strange tropical forest could hold. It brought fear and uncertainty.
In this life, the Christian´s way takes us through a jungle. Immense and deadly snakes lie hidden in the thick foliage. Pitfalls, steep trails, and harmful plants are perilous to us on our journey. But we do not need to give in to fear. We have been given a Way! Christ is not a set path to follow. Jesus is given to us to trade places with whatever it is that tempts us or that threatens us. Following the Way, does not remove our jungle, it just assures us the most amazing future together with God our Father!
Dear Lord,
As we set out into our jungle today, please be our Way! Give our hearts relief from fear and uncertainty as we focus upon You! Loom into view until the vision of You leaves no room for the temptations or troubles we may face, we pray!
