For Believers

Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy, however, is for believers, not for unbelievers.  1^st Corinthians 14:22  NIV

 

The performance just came to a close and one of the performers stood at the door to see the guests as they left the hall.  It was late and many hurried off to their rooms.  An elderly couple passed by the entertainer and then turned around.  The man was obviously struggling with some inner voices.  Finally he came back and spoke to the performer.  He told him that as he watched the evening´s performance he was impressed by the show.  But the whole evening, the Spirit had been whispering to him that he needed to speak to this very performer.  He hadn´t given it much thought as the odds were impossible for them to ever meet face-to-face.  But now here they were.  “I don´t know if you are a Christian.”  He said.  “But God wants me to tell you that He has something greater in mind for you.”

Nothing more was said.  No more needed to be said.  One man had been faithful to the words given from above.  The performer was also left with the message to ponder.  The seed was planted for the Lord.  Now it was time to watch as God unfolded His plans in this person´s life.  Would we like to walk so closely with the Lord that He could share a message to someone someday through us?

 

Dear Lord,

Teach us to walk so intimately with You that You may use us for building up the faith of those around us, we pray!
