Help Is Near

But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you. Psalm 5:11

There are souls that struggle. They try so hard to grow their faith and still find it difficult. If they only knew how it feels when the Savior is near, the struggle would end. What they need is help. But help is within our grasp. Where we see only a crushing weight upon our shoulders, mighty hands hold up the other end. All we need to do to activate the unlimited strength of God´s all-powerful hands is to turn. If we shift our gaze from our troubles to Christ, we drop our burdens in His hands. We can finally heave that sigh of relief. It sounds easy, and it should be. The hard part is getting the consent of our hearts. Our hearts listen too much to the world´s lies. There will be opposition to the traitor who stops trusting in themselves and this world.

We can start, though, with a hint of hope. Set that glimmer on the Lord and let Him grow it into something magnificent. Each discovery we make of the presence and nearness of the God of Glory will fortify our souls. Every step in His direction helps us release the grip and step out of the limelight. The Holy Spirit sweeps in to fill the void. The more of Him we get in us, the more aware we become of His power, presence, and grace. The hard work of believing and determined following gets done by itself. It is a magical equation of less of me and more of the Lord.

We are soon free to snuggle in close to our Savior. We will have our Friend for life. He lifts us up and carries us through the worst this world will throw at us.

So call out to Him. Reach out to the One who reaches out for us. Turn, and we will find Him turned to us. He will wrap up the hurting, pull close the needy, and defend the humble who need Him. He always has, and He always will.

But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice, Let them always shout for joy, because you defend them. Let them also who love your name be joyful in you. Psalm 5:11
