Dare Cry To God

“Hear my prayer, Yahweh, and give ear to my cry. Don’t be silent at my tears. For I am a stranger with you, a foreigner, as all my fathers were. Psalm 39:12

We reach our breaking point and where do we turn? Nothing else on earth seems to work. So we look up. We cry out to God.

We have all been there. Atheists and believers alike. “Why me!” Or, “Why this!” We might even accuse God and ask, “What now?” or “Do I really need this?” We can even border on anger. We can shout out at the Maker of the Stars. Our childish actions may not be fitting for us. But the direction we look might help.

After having our tantrums, if we are lucky, we will listen to what God will whisper to our souls. If we go that far, we will hear. If we remain focused on ourselves, we won´t. But, if we go to Him ready for answers, He will be pleased to lead us.

Our dilemma grows clearer when a little light shines on it. You see, we are strangers to God. Our fathers were before us. We stepped out with God when we decided each one to go our own way. We are all guilty. It takes a turning point for us to see. We must realize we are far from the Lord. Or we will never seek to return.

Let the hard times come. Let us lose faith in ourselves and this planet spinning out of control. We will only be heading in a good direction. Then, let us look up. Let us cry out to God. But most importantly, let us go to Him with hearts that will listen and learn. Listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.
