As For Me

Whenever we see the words, as for me, we know that the person saying them is setting themselves aside. What we learn of that person will come directly after. They are daring words. It is not easy to stand alone. What will the crowd think? Who will we turn to when we have chosen to go out of step with them?

The Psalmist´s choice was toward integrity. He would rather be good than lower his standards. But most importantly, He asks to be allowed into the presence of God. That is rare. There are stories of people throughout the ages. We can find some who dared to set themselves that far apart from the crowd. But today? Who is willing now? Who is trying to be where God is?

All that exists in our universe, in creation, is here because God was here first. Yet the world chases everything else but Him. Pray that there are still some who would dare to step out. Ask the Lord to place it in our hearts to seek Him today. Let there be a few who will refuse to chase what everyone else is chasing. Let us be the ones who strive for nothing less than to come into the presence of God.

As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, and set me in your presence forever.  Psalm 41:12
