Who Forgets God

“Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you into pieces, and there be no one to deliver. Psalm 50:22

Christians do not like to hear that we are wrong. Nobody does, especially when talking about our beliefs. Yet there is far more at stake here than our egos. So, the wise will sit and listen. They will tune their ears to hear. Ones whose hearts fix on reaching a privileged walk with God will check themselves.

It is far too easy to settle into comfortable thoughts, customs, and routines. But faith in the Living God is the opposite. We must get active with our faith, or it is dead. We must exercise it, use it, and strengthen it. If not, we have forgotten to make it what it should be. We are not taking our walk with the Lord seriously.

The book of Psalms is full of glimmering promise and praise. But it also holds enough warning to those who choose to relax. Pray that we can use the encouragement and the council of what we like to hear and what we don´t. Pray that all Scriptures throw deeper into our search for more of God. That way, there will be much more glorious findings.
