From the pulpit, the leader calls for prayer. Everyone in the congregation bows their heads with respect. But what runs through each head among them at that moment may differ. This one, listens out of one ear. That one is trying to still his kids. One over there is going over their meal plans for when the service is over. There are as many different sentiments as there are individuals in the gathering.
When we pray, it is like dialing up Heaven. The line is activated, and we have made the intention. At any moment, a voice could sound on the other end. We come to connect with the Lord. We could lend our hearts and our attention to our beloved Father. We could hear His sweet voice. There is no telling what wonders we may experience as we approach the Lord.
Our relationship with the Lord is worth weighing all through our day. Our opportunities for a moment in His presence deserve careful attention. It is time for us to turn up the heat with what we seek from Him. We should be are not finding ourselves enthralled with His glorious presence. If not, then let us drop it all. Let us go running to find ourselves breathless before our Savior again.
