Humans are diggers. We dig in the earth to uncover our past. We dig in books to teach ourselves how to walk. We dig into subjects to know how to deal with them as well. We dig and dig. The difference between us, though, is where we dig.
If we are like our furry friends, the dogs, we could use our nature to help us out. Instead of digging for all the riches of this world, we could set our sights a lot higher. We could look up in wonder. We could gaze upon God. He is much higher than us and our understanding. He is far higher than the dirt we usually focus on.
One of the loftiest missions a soul can set on is to dig into the wonders of God. If we could use our curiosity and drive, we could dive into Him. We can dig into the past to learn of God. We can dig into prophecy. We could dig into our hearts and find out what they yearn for. Then, with all our digging, perhaps we will find the treasure we seek. But surely it will not come looking in our earth. We will find our greatest possession is to have a Heavenly Father. He is our very own. Look higher. Look up! Look above the galaxies and behold our God!
