In God

The righteous shall be glad in Yahweh, and shall take refuge in him. All the upright in heart shall praise him! Psalm 64:10

Christians could think that because we talk of God, He is in our lives. But there is a big difference between talking about God and talking with Him. There are many people in our lives that we can talk a lot about. But for the relationships that count, we want to invest time and effort in them. It is vital to our bond to hear firsthand how they feel about things. And the other person in our relationship will want to hear from us too.

With God, not only is our relationship built up over time, but it decides the outcome of each day. We will get much further if we align our goals with what the Lord is working on. That means, instead of running off on our own to get what we can out of our lives, we are interested in Him. God knows what is of value in whatever we are experiencing. We don´t always see that the angry person who insulted us was actually a moment orchestrated by God. If, we are not tuned to His will and speaking to Him when it happens, we could miss an opportunity. He could be giving us a moment to show His character in how we react. We might fail to see where He is heading and react inappropriately. We could retaliate instead of demonstrating His forgiveness and care.

The people who would like to wear the name of the Lord should be wrapped up in Him. We should go out of our way to be right where God is and be alert to what He is working on. That does not happen by accident. We must cultivate our walk with the Spirit. Let us start seeking Him more often, sooner, and more intently each day.
