Arise, God!

The trend today is to shake puny fists at God. So many ask Him to justify Himself. Others want Him to defend Himself. Some think that by saying He does not exist, they can somehow wipe out His existence. When will man learn his place?

If God did respond to them, they would not like the outcome. They would have to face the fact that they were wrong. And they would not be able to stand the consequences of their arrogance. There would be no place to hide their hateful statements. God would finally be seen as the only intelligence and force that controls our outcome. Where will they get food when they realize they are biting the hand that feeds them?

It would not be Christlike to wish evil on those who shake their fists at God. He suffered rejection and the cross to save us, all of us. The Lord would hate to lose even the smallest of His sheep. Instead, let us pray that hearts soften. Ask for a tiny flame to ignite deep within and burn with the desire to get to know the Wonder that is our God.
