For God´s Name Sake

For some reason, God chose humans to fill a special purpose. It is a wonder because we have a tendency to wander from Him. Even the most religious people we look up to can and do turn to their own interests at times. All have fallen away! (Romans 3:23) Why would God above choose to invest in a wayward race like ours?

God is good. He is so indescribably wonderful that no language or amount of words can capture all that He Is. But we have His name. We can lift that up. We can whisper the name of God through trembling lips and use the most adoring tone. His name stands to receive glory, honor, and praise. Even just the Name of God is worth our worship.

That God chose to redeem wayward creatures like us speaks even more highly of Him. We are undeserving all the while we chase our own heart´s desires. Now that we turn to Him, it brings even more worth to His love, mercy, and His compassion for us. So, let us come searching for Him. He has sought us. Let us do it like He does, for His name´s sake. Let us lift the Name of God even higher still.

Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of your name. Deliver us, and forgive our sins, for your name’s sake.  Psalm 79:9 (WEB)
