Turn Us Again, God

The call that comes to us from above is to turn. We might think that we did that once-and-for-all when we came to believe in Jesus. But then, we find ourselves needing it all over again. We get distracted by so many different things in our world and our busy little lives here. Blessed are those who wake up and realize it. Far too many people never do.

We should not be surprised to find that even good Christians must stop often. We must check where our hearts are in our relationship with the Lord. It should be something that we are all very much aware of. The enemy of all that is good hates all who turn to God. We will fall under his violent disfavor the moment we try. All the darker powers will set themselves to undermine any genuine faith. They will work hard to weaken our spiritual health. Or, keep us looking anywhere besides our Savior.

So, let our prayers intensify. Give us help from above. Let us see that temptations come each day to take steps outside of the presence of God. Pray with the Psalmists that God´s face shines brighter for us. Pray that nothing hides Him from us. Let us warm in the brightness of God´s presence so we turn again. Let us press close enough to Christ that we don´t lose our chance of being saved.
