Everyone on earth has their highest goals. Some want power, and others want fame. Nearly all chase after money. Those who have some want even more. Those who don´t have much want more too. Other people chase lower goals like cars, adventure, or being well-studied. The point is that we all esteem something and all look up to the things that hold worth for us.
There is One thing to esteem that is so far above the rest that there is no way of comparing. God Most High is eternal. He is all-powerful. The Almighty is without beginning and without end. We cannot begin to fathom all that our Lord is. There are creatures before His throne that worship and praise Him without ceasing. They are right there with Him and see all He is and does. It should humble us to consider it.
Many people never stop to think about where we place the things we value. Rank them as we will. God should always stand out far above the rest. If we recognize it, then there is hope. We can meet Him. We can find ourselves in His presence one day. All we have to do is to set our hearts on the right path. Step in close to our Savior, and He can help us focus on our Highest Goal. Let us seek the Most High and let the rest of the world squabble over the lesser things.
