People who set out on a pilgrimage have one thing on their mind. They know there will be many difficulties and even setbacks. But they are set on arriving where their hearts are driving them. They have a goal. If we have set our souls on reaching the Throne Room of God, faith in our Guide will bring us strength.
Not a lot of people these days set out on pilgrimages. Not many set their hearts on the Presence of the Divine either. But if we have heard His call, our story can be different. We can step out. We can go where few will ever choose to go. We can set out from wherever we are and make the journey of a lifetime. We can come close to God.
That others will refuse to join us does not need to stand in our way. Instead, it can encourage us. Accept our challenge. Let the chilly wind strike us in the face. Where we are heading, there is only bliss. By our Savior´s side, we will forever be safe. We can take the trials and pains. Christ will lead us forward. Set these souls on our pilgrimage today. Every step closer to God will bring us further into His arms.
