Prayers That Enter God´s Presence

Let my prayer enter into your presence. Turn your ear to my cry. Psalm 88:2

People pray all kinds of prayers. Some are good. Some reach right into the throne room of God. Others do not. Do we ever think about the way we pray? Are we praying the kind of prayers that hover directly before the Lord and please His Holy ears? (Read Revelation 8:4, and Acts 10:4)

It is common to pray to God as if He were far away. Something deep inside us might think our prayer may never reach His ears. We whisper or cry out, but do not really believe that what we say will interest our Lord. So, we just let the words float out into some imaginary reaches of space. But, if we are praying to a God who is not there or not concerned, we are not praying to the loving Redeemer. It is not to the One who died so that we could be together.

What can we do then? It might take a little time. We may have to get interested in our conversation too. But, if we can get together with the One we would pray to, our prayers will be heard. God is all-seeing. He is all-hearing too. He is listening for His children who would truly like to speak with Him. We will have to want to talk with Him and even listen to Him. But those are qualities that we can work on. Our prayer time can soon become the sweetest part of our day. When we start to walk and talk with the Lord our God in the quiet places of our souls, blessings will follow. Above all, a new and vibrant relationship will begin to grow.
