Come Into God´s Courts

Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts. Psalm 96:8

Have we ever considered what it means to come into God´s courts? We might imagine courtyards in Heaven and smile at the thought. But, as with everything we learn of God, we will find our imaginings fall short. Our current reality pales in comparison to the true order of things in realms where the Divine lives. We can´t see there. So we don´t even try. Or, we cling to images that resemble our world and things we know.

One thing we can understand about the courts of God is that they are near where He is. It is some greater dimension or place where the Lord is at home. It is in His house, and He is the ruler there. Everything runs and is as He wants it. Does that sound like a place we could yearn to enter?

We are creatures who cannot by ourselves gain entrance to the courts of God. Therefore, we should feel privileged to get an invitation. We can be blessed beings if we hear the call and are stirred to long for that place. Turning from our former longings, we can do something new with our desires. Exchange it all for the opportunity to experience the presence of God. Let us go out of our way to seek the Lord and become the ones. Develop a relationship with Him that is strong enough to last. Then, let us set our hopes on being so close that He will let us into His courts forever.
