When the veil is removed that separates us from the presence of God, all creation trembles. Awe and dread come when created things find themselves exposed before their Maker. If, we think we can stand in the light of God´s splendor and righteousness, we are wrong. It is so much more than we can comprehend. The Divine is much more than we can take in. But there is hope.
Even zealous religious people might play down the size, might, or fear of God. But they shouldn´t. Those who doubt, should go back to the accounts we find in the Scriptures. When even mighty men of God came face to face with His splendor, they were humbled to the core. Many threw themselves down. Why? If we have never come into the presence of the Almighty, it would be worth the effort to try. Make it our life´s mission to grow close enough to God that He can show us some small piece of Himself. We would also be left bewildered and undone.
The galaxies and constellations will shout His glories. The mountains will shake and melt. Yet, there is one thing that could make us stand. His name is Jesus Christ. When God´s plan for this Earth finally comes to its predicted end, we could be left standing by His side. He paid a high price for those souls who would prevail until the end. Let us grow close to Him today. Let us edge in heart and soul until that dreadful day. When all the brightness of God pierces through and shows us for what we are worth, let it find us near our Savior. Let our bond with Christ be what saves us!
