We Owe It All To God

28. You give to them; they gather. You open your hand; they are satisfied with good. 29.You hide your face; they are troubled. You take away their breath; they die and return to the dust. Psalm 104:28-29

Arrogant men think we know it all. We presume we can say if God exists or not. We, who don´t entirely understand our existence, would make ourselves the experts. Meanwhile, some mysterious spark turns matter into living, breathing, thinking beings. Life hangs upon the command of the Great Unseen.

Every creature alive has Someone to thank for the air they breathe. Our hearts and lungs pump in harmony to a rhythm put there by our unseen Maker. It all works by His design. We can try to give ourselves credit for it. But with all the millions of variables, it is pathetic even to try. Even under His care is the food and drink we use to fuel and sustain our fragile grip on life. God, who made the plants and springs, nurtures them too.

One would think that we could all see quite clearly the grace and care our Lord showers upon us. What, with even the tiniest viral bacteria, everyone´s health is threatened. The whole world is affected by a single outbreak. It is time we stop and give thanks. It is high time we give honor and praise due to the One who holds us in His hands. Let us seek Him now.
