Waking up to the presence of the Divine is an experience that exceeds any expectations. Precious individuals have lived through vivid accounts where their awareness was heightened. They are forever marked and are not the same from then on.
God sends windows of light where people can detect His presence. These let ordinary people like us glimpse a tiny part of the Lord in all His glory. Our senses come alive, allowing us to sense, view, or hear things beyond common perception. It happens to humble souls who yearn for Him. They are the ones who strive for the kind of righteousness that only God bestows. These are the sort of believers who get these blessed awakenings. Do we?
If we are followers of Christ, then we should be seeking our own encounters with Him daily. They do not always have to stand out like a burning bush or a bright light that stops us in our tracks. But our engagement with our Lord needs to grow so personal and intimate that we receive as well as give. Our relationship must increase not only in what we offer of our hearts and worship. It reaches a point where we are open enough for the Lord to move.
Let us get serious and directed with our dealings with God. Let us approach Him with a determined effort to find. Let us demand that our walk with Him effectively places us where our Lord is. In however great or small we sense the presence of God, let us ask for more!
