Turn To God

Turn to me, and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Psalm 119:132

Christians hold some pretty powerful resources that we have not learned to tap. We are connected to the Almighty in ways that could unleash His power and control into our lives. But many of us walk as if we know nothing of our privileged position. So the result is that we plod along each day on our own. We wonder why God´s hand is not being displayed. But it could be. We first need to fix a few things.

The first thing to do to activate God´s power and control in our lives is to turn to Him. He has already declared those who call on His Name as His children. We are the sheep of His pasture. There is no better label we could have than to be His. So our turning to Him activates our privileged status. It sounds easy, right? Then what does it mean to turn to Him?

We could say that attending church or calling ourselves Christians means we turn to Him. But it doesn´t work like that. God is alive. He is somewhere nearer than we can imagine. But we still have to find Him. We must experience Him. We must make it into His presence. We must turn enough of all that is within us to seek Him. Then will come the happy encounter. God will turn to us if we turn to Him. That is the promise and the thrilling reality. Let us see to it that it happens to us.

Turn to me, and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name.  Psalm 119:132 (WEB)
