“Keep your chin up.” “Raise your sights.” The concept of improving always directs us to look higher than where we are. Christians also look up. We contemplate the Divine in His Glory.
From wherever we find ourselves, we can always reach a loftier peak. There is always ground to be gained. It applies in every other area. But when it comes to our dealings with God, improvement is vital. We may not see it now, but a great new dawn approaches. Man will be seen for what he is. We will know the Lord and love His Kingdom, or we will have let our sights fall.
The ones who will be forever rejoicing will be those who look higher than the hills. Setting our gaze beyond Earth´s loftiest peaks, brings us closer to our destination. It will not come down to our ability to climb or outsmarting the experts. We can reach the Throne room of God only by knowing the One who lives there. So, instead of fighting to get all we can around us now, let us lift our eyes. Focus on nothing less than the Son of God, our Savior. Close to Him all the joys of God will soon loom into view.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? Psalm 121:1 (WEB)
