We are guilty. Christians today have been tricked. We know that God works above our powers to understand. He does more than we see to bring us in the best possible direction in life. Yet we still stumble by thinking we get where we need to go by our own efforts. We mean well enough. But we lack faith. So we strain and moan and struggle to get where we imagine we need to go. Without exception, every believer falls into this temptation to some degree.
Unless God does the building, our work is useless. We could build mighty ministries, organizations, and plesant lives for ourselves. But we need to let the Designer run the construction as well. How do we do that? By walking extremely close to Him.
Although nobody might accuse us of being lazy, we need to work along with the Lord. There will be no extra points for running ahead with our imagined goals. We could miss the race altogether if we build without including the Master Builder. So, let us make it our daily mission to get into His presence. Demand more from our time with the Lord. Demand more time with Him. Let us get so involved directly with Him that God can lead once again. The closer we grow to our Savior, the sooner we will see what He is working on. The sooner we detect God´s movement, the sooner we can work with Him instead of stealing the work from Him.
