The days of attending church are swiftly losing their general popularity. The newer ways of thinking rob church-going of its importance to our lives and the health of our souls. People either find little time or desire to leave other interests to gather to worship the Lord. There are few left who cling to the tradition. Whole societies used to assemble each week. Now, they come in only on special occasions or when a loved one has died. But, in the face of this sad general trend, some hearts still long for moments with God.
Even souls that have lost their church community may still burn deep within. They may have lost their weekly routine of devotion. But they still sense their yearning to come before the Lord. These aching souls search for moments to share. Sadly, they may have to approach God alone. But it is not the end of the world. These hearts that long for the Lord will seek Him regardless of the world´s condition. They will find their moments to be with Him. They may even find someone who will worship God with them at times.
The point is not to get outraged at where we are in God´s plan of salvation. The objective is to search our own souls. Do we long for the Lord? Do we seek out our times to be with Him throughout our day? Our day may make it impossible for us to gather together. But every soul that burns to be found in Christ comes together in the same place – in Him.
