It happens to us all. We see nice things, and we want them. Our hearts go out to beautiful houses, cars, a great job, and such. Not only do we desire the physical treasures, but things like a good name or respect, as well. We would think that those who study the Bible would be above the tendency to love the shiny things in life. But the temptations are always there.
Each individual will one day get to see where their hearts truly were. When Christ comes to establish God´s Kingdom, we will all see clearly what it is that we love. (Revelation 9:20)
Whether we place importance on it or not, we choose each day. We decide what we let our hearts go out to. We could make more of this life and all we can get out of it. Or, we could invest in a future without end. There is no telling all that we may be blessed with in God´s Kingdom. But, just to meet Him and live in His presence forever will be more than enough for some people. Let us be among the blessed ones!
