Eyes on God

For my eyes are on you, Yahweh, the Lord. I take refuge in you. Don’t leave my soul destitute.. Psalm 141:8

Nowadays, it might seem difficult to decipher what God would have His children do to be saved. It could seem that each of the many religions are boasting to be the only ones who have the key. But this does not correspond to the teachings of the One we call Christ. He was a humble messenger sent to us from God. We don´t have to believe Him, but if we want to learn how to approach God, we should.

The teachings of Jesus encourage us to come. We can each lay down our high ideals and our opinions. Humbly, we can reach for Him with our hearts open wide. Prayer is the channel we can use to speak with Him. He responds to genuine souls, those who seek quiet times to be with Him. Although our physical eyes may not detect much in spiritual realms just yet, we can look with all our hearts. When we search for the presence of God, it pleases Him greatly. He loves to reward the children who do.

So, if we have ever held any crazy notions of experiencing God ourselves, we can find hope. Let us kindle the spark of desire that burns deep within. If we can fan the flame hot enough, we can turn the eyes of our souls to seek the Lord. We can press past mere notions and wishful thinking. We can gaze hard after the Savior of our souls. Look up in wonder. God rewards those who look to Him. Don´t grow weary. He will not leave us destitute. If we take refuge in Him and keep our eyes on Him, He will fill our vision forever! Oh, what a blissful sight!
