Souls Out of Trouble

Revive me, Yahweh, for your name’s sake. In your righteousness, bring my soul out of trouble. Psalm 143:11

We find ourselves in trouble. Our voices cry out for help. We often turn to God when things are too much for us. Yet what is it that we cry for? Do we only want our Savior to remove the obstacles from our path? Or do we bring ourselves before the Lord to place our souls in a safe place?

Many call on God´s name only when they realize the situation is out of their hands. Only when they need Divine providence will they seek the Lord. But that is because they don´t understand where the real danger is coming from. Our souls are at stake. It is our hearts that are under attack. If we cry to God only to have Him set us back on an easy path, then it is not our relationship with Him that we would like to build.

The only way to place our souls out of trouble is to tie those souls to God. We should go to Him not to have a cozy life on earth but to bond with Him. Let us go to the Lord to be with Him. Let us invest in our walk with Him in the sunshine and the rain. When being with our Savior becomes our reason for running to Him, our souls will be in the best hands ever!
