Near God

Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. Psalm 145:18

We may have all felt it at some time. You are going along, and suddenly you realize that God is near. A sense or awareness of His presence overcomes you. Your frail body is not capable of taking it all in. God is too wonderful, too astounding. The soul races to try and embace His presence, even while the terror of His greatness is throws us to the floor. We bow, hushed and humbled, in the presence of God.

If it has happened to us, we will understand something about religion that others may miss. Our faith is not about a lifestyle, detached beliefs in theory, or in a level of standards. Our dealings with God come down to one thing. And that is whether we want to be near Him or not.

The precious souls who get this simple, yet rare understanding, will call out to Him. We will see the incongruity of humans aspiring to closeness with the Divine. We will know we need help. We will realize that without a Savior nobody can walk intimately with the Almighty and Righteous God. So if we cry out today, let it be for our Redeemer to take us by the hand and lead us near our God. Ask Him to take us to a place in our hearts where God´s presence is always near us.

Yahweh is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.   Psalm  145:18
