When we draw near the Lord, something beautiful happens. It is not a theoretical doctrine or theory. When we turn to Christ, He is free to engage with us. Yes, we have been held far from God for too long. But, when we seek to know the Savior, Heaven rejoices. No longer does God have to respect our independence. He can take us into His outstretched arms. It is a spiritual process. It goes far deeper than our mental capacities. We come to Him, and He can share Himself with us.
As marvelous and mysterious as the process is, it does not end with a single connection. We give our hearts to Jesus, but the relationship grows. It benefits us immensely but then pours out to those around us. Snuggled in the embrace of God makes us the perfect place for others to find encouragement. Hope comes to us, and others will see. Love can warm any heart that will feel the heat.
So spread our arms. Kindle up the fire. Let those around us know what warmth we have found in the arms of our Lord and Savior today!
