The Deception We Face Today

We thought we were on our guard. But deception has found its way into even the tightest of religious circles. While we say the Lord´s name, sing songs, and worship Him, we somehow feel He is far away. The great deceiver has tricked us out of having God here with us. And that is far below where He desires us to be.

God called for believers who longed to be with Him, not in words only or actions. He wants us to be the kind of worshippers who will turn our backs on our things to receive something from Him. We should yearn, hunger, and thirst for His presence. Seeking our Savior throughout each day should be what we get out of bed for.

Dear Lord,

When we ask what the dawning day will bring, let our hearts leap up and say, “Give us access to our God! Give us acute awareness of Your presence, Dear Lord! Let us accept no distance separating us from You. Not today. Not ever!”
