When to Witness

When God fills our souls with His presence, let it flow out to those around us.

Some preach that it is the Christian calling and duty to get out there and convert others to their beliefs. While this is one of the things Christ Himself taught us, it is not the first or the most important. It would be like sending out salespeople door to door without first giving them a product worth selling.

Our first calling is to seek the Lord and His Kingdom. We are to turn from all that we were before. That means we are no longer children of this world with a license to act as this world does. We no longer think like they do. Our days of walking and talking like the rest of the people are over. Now, we focus on God. We have His thoughts to put before ours. We have His goals to place in higher regard to our immediate plans.

What does God want? It is not a workforce set on selling their preferred beliefs or standards. It is to share what we have found of God with those who could experience Him themselves. We can only sell something we are familiar with. Come seeking the Lord. Get with Him, right into His presence. Then, as He leads, we will have something to share from the Spirit that floods into our hearts.

Dear Lord, Give us a burden to draw nearer to You today. Let us grow so close that we detect Your presence, instructions, and encouragement. When we are bubbling over from the close relationship we share with You, let it then flow on to others we pray. Amen
