When threats or losses fall on our day, it can be impossible to see how we could ever keep going. We may lose the love we had for our lives. When this happens, we will need somewhere to turn. We could search the whole world and find nothing that will comfort us. Then, we could look up. That is the only direction that can help lift our spirits.
A heavy spirit needs a lighter one to lift it. The closer the assisting spirit is to God, the more they will be able to help. If the Spirit we seek is the Holy Spirit, we have found our greatest Comforter. Draw near Him and squeeze into the Spirit of God´s embrace. There, there is peace.
Like nowhere on earth, our hearts beat to a different rhythm when we are in the presence of God. Worldly pain is tied to a lower realm. When we walk with the Savior of the World, our path may cross those dark valleys. But our eyes are on celestial wonder. Step close to the Lord. Every inch gained brings us closer to the throne room of God.
Dear Lord, when we cannot see above our problems, come near. Make Your presence felt. Life loses its sweetness, and we need You. So let nothing keep us from Your arms. There, in Your presence and wrapped in loving embrace, give us the strength to carry on. Let Your Spirit fill us until You are the beat of our hearts, we pray. Amen
