Keeping Our Hearts, Or Giving Them to God

The only part of our heart that God asks for is the whole heart. Anything less is holding it back from Him.

It is a very uncomfortable topic that most people prefer not to dive into. But when giving our hearts to the Lord, we should consider our intentions. It is too easy to say we are offering our hearts to God but still keep them tightly clutched to ourselves. We will have the say of when, how much, and how far. But that is not the relationship God called us to.

Christ gave His all for us. He went through the grave to make a way for us to come. Our Lord held nothing back. If we would follow Him, our way forward is clear. Let´s give God our whole hearts.

Dear Lord, we are weak and stubborn. But something in our hearts has turned to You. Now help us to hold up these hearts to You. Let us offer You our entire souls and hold nothing back. Make this our daily quest. May nothing keep us from coming fully unto You. Grow in importance to us until we are utterly Yours, and You are ours, we pray. Amen

3. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land? 4. While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.” Acts 5:3-4 (KJV)
