Alarms Sounding for God

Let the alarms sound whenever we realize we are too busy for God.

We have all experienced it. The pace of life has increased the world over. We get so caught up in doing this and running there. Our frenzied pace is no accident. The enemy of our Lord has carefully orchestrated it. We have been warned through the Bible and countless messengers from God. Yet, every day, we seem to have less time to devote to our walk with our Savior. We may not even hear the alarms that should be sounding in our hearts and blasting in our ears.

Anything that steals our attention away from the Divine is a threat. That may be hard to see, and we are trained not to think that way anymore. But God does not want us to take one step without Him. He does not desire us to be far from Him, not even for a minute. But it will take open hearts to hear the warnings over the clamor of our day.

So, if we detect that the pace of our day is not letting us seek the presence of God, open our ears! Turn our hearts towards the Lord again! Pray that we are open to the sound of any alarm that may let us know we could and should be closer to Him.

Dear Lord, tune us to You so acutely that we detect even the slightest distance creeping between us. Strike us with awareness of our situation and the hour that we are living through. Time is short. We can still grow our relationship with You. Help us hear every reminder to make more of our walk with You and less of our current home, we pray. Amen

He said, “Watch out that you don’t get led astray, for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he,’ and, ‘The time is at hand.’ Therefore don’t follow them.  Luke 21:8 (WEB)

Therefore rejoice, heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and to the sea, because the devil has gone down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has but a short time.” Revelation 12:12 (WEB)

But I say this, brothers: the time is short. From now on, both those who have wives may be as though they had none;  1 Corinthians 7:29 (WEB)
