Why We Come to God

Do we ever check why we come to God? Let us pray that it is to be with Him!

If we are serious about where our faith will eventually take us, we will want to check our sincerity. Failing to do that could mean we miss the mark or get led astray.

The reasons people choose to become Christians are many. But we are considering something else here. We want to talk about our dealings with God. People can throw themselves into religion. They can try to fit the description their whole lifetimes. But what about where we stand in our relationship with God?

Drawing near the Lord and engaging with Him should be our primary goal. It should be what gets us out of bed in the morning. It should drive us throughout our day and give us the insight on how to make our decisions. We are not alone. And we do not have to take one step alone. Sadly, many times, we do.

A simple shift in the emphasis of our lives could change everything. We could place our focus on being with our God. Heaven and Earth would finally come into alignment. When we enter the presence of the Divine, He has our lives within His hands. With our attention on what He is thinking and doing, we step as He would have us. But the greatest treasure for those who walk with the Almighty is that we are with Him.

Dear Lord, let us experience the thrill and joy of Your presence today. Seize our hearts and overwhelm us with awareness. Let us walk through our day knowing You are here. Help us keep You so close and present that it influences everything we pray. Amen
