Even among those who still go to church, there are threats that would steal away our Prize. God gave His Son and His Spirit to His beloved children. Yet still, there are powerful and devious forces that will not stand to let our souls belong to God. These dark evils are more concerned with tricking us who call on Christ than all the wayward ones of the world.
In every stage and point of our faith, these powers would lead us from the good that would come. If we read an uplifting message, they might defer us into any other reaction than to step closer to our Lord. If we gain some insight into the grace of God, darkness will bombard us. It will distract us with notions of how our earthly lives could benefit.
The trick is remaining focused. If we would have our Savior as our Prize, we need to know what we are up against. We must pray that nothing steals us from our goal of growing closer each day. Pray for insight, awareness, and signs warning us that the world is stealing us from our Beloved.
Dear Lord, while the final battles rage over who will wind up by Your side, keep our hearts glued on You. Let every message, discovery, and ground gained with You throw us further into the safety of Your arms. Help us not to fall for any tricks that would rob us of being with You today, we pray. Amen
