No Step Without the Lord

The lie that the serpent feeds us today is that we can think for ourselves. That heresy attacks God´s dwindling flock of sheep with all the determination of hell. Not one of God´s children would manage to find their way to the Savior´s side if evil gets its way. So, we must step with caution and search for Christ as our lives depend on it.

The truth is, we stumble every time we step out on our own. We were never designed to be completely independent. We were given a will. But that will is only healthy when it chooses God´s will, not ours. That means that although we could step out and walk as we see fit, we choose to walk with our eyes on the Lord.

The Kingdom of Heaven is for those described in the Sermon on the Mount. Find the Spirit and nature taught there, and we will feed from the Tree of Life. Anything else is waywardness. Pray that we take no step without our Intimate Friend and Guide.

Dear Lord, we love to trust in ourselves but show us our need for You. Teach us to refuse any step without You. Let us seek You in every thought, word, and action -we pray. Amen
