Some Care to Hear God

Christ´s call to do as He says is an invitation to step close enough to Him to hear His voice each day.

We often mistake our calling when we come to faith in God. We hear the words and understand them. But get lost in a maze of right and wrong doctrines and practices. Although the teachings are biblically sound, we choose a path that does not bring us any closer to the Lord. We may worship and feel better. But if our religion does not bring us into the immediate presence of God, it is far from His wishes for us.

The kind of worshippers that the Lord looks for are the ones who truly want to engage with Him. We could be thinking of Him, longing to be with Him, and turning to Him all through our day. Let us strive for a relationship with God that brings His presence and His voice into our lives.

Dear Lord, when we say we come to You, help us to mean it. Turn our full attention to getting near enough to You that we can sense Your presence. Let us hear Your whispered instructions and encouragements. Strengthen us with the awareness that You are here with us today. Make our hearts yearn more all the time to be with you, we pray. Amen

35. It was shown to you so that you might know that Yahweh is God. There is no one else besides him. 36. Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you. On earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the middle of the fire.  Deuteronomy 4:35-36 (WEB)Give ear, and hear my voice!
