Real Inner Peace

Finding inner peace by looking within ourselves will never compare to waking up to the presence of the Almighty and Eternal God.

It has become trendy to dream of running off to some exotic temple and then dedicating time and effort to finding inner peace. Some people must have had a certain level of success at it, and we celebrate them as heroes. But while people will go to such lengths to find god-like peace within themselves, we could cut the process much shorter and find exceedingly more if we looked above.

Encountering God in living experience is what built Christianity. It might not be the direction we are taking our faith today, but we were warned these days would come. Still, the testimonies are many of the men and women who have bowed before a presence so immense that words cannot explain.

Those who humbled themselves and searched for God with an open heart toward Him have been rewarded. The wait will only depend on the caliber of our desire after Christ, not on how well we follow the rituals. We don´t have to go far to turn to God. Anyone can do it anywhere. So, what are we waiting for? Peace will come when we experience the presence of the Lord. Let us set our hearts on nothing less.

Dear Lord, we want to humble ourselves and seek Your presence. Search our hearts. Look for ones that truly turn to You. Then, when we desire nothing short of meeting You, heighten our awareness. Burst through the clouds of our reality until the sensation of You here with us becomes our reality. Peace will come when we realize Your size, Your power, and Your presence here with us! We have found nothing until we have You. Thrill us now, we pray. Amen

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.  John 14:27 (WEB)

You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.  Isaiah 26:3 (WEB)

13. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ. 14. For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation, 15. having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace, 16. and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.   Ephesians 2:13-16 (WEB)
