Praying Our Way into God´s Arms

Prayer engages seeking souls with the Divine. There, the bonds between us can grow strong.

Prayers can place our humble souls before the Lord. It opens the channels through which we walk and talk with Him. Only hearts that want to know Him will truly come. But those who do seek Him out can come into contact with the Savior. Our attention can turn from us and rest on Him. For those precious moments, we are not self-regarding but God-regarding. That is a blissful grace!

When we drive ourselves into our mission of approaching God, it expands our horizons. Eternal realities loom into view. The Lord shares marvelous discoveries about His presence. Time and distance traveled together strengthen the growing bonds. Hurdles and gains made do as well. Notions of faith turn into tested pillars that confirm our closeness. Yet we go nowhere without this crucial engagement.

By far, the best any of us can do is to walk and talk with the Lord. So embrace our prayer life with determination. Let us throw ourselves fully into the budding relationship we have with Christ! Let us pray without ceasing!

Dear Lord, draw us with an irresistible urge to be with You. Give our seeking hearts delight with every new thing we share with and learn of You. Make it so that we spring into a new life through the times we spend with You. Encourage us as we make progress in our relationship each day. And thank You for this walk that we share. Amen

13. “Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. 14. How narrow is the gate and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.  Matthew 7:13-14 (WEB)

5. “When you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Most certainly, I tell you, they have received their reward. 6. But you, when you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.  Matthew 6:5-8 (WEB)
