When God Asks Us to do the Impossible

Anything God asks us to do is sure to be more than we are humanly capable of. But none of it is to be done alone.

God asks tall orders of us. But it doesn´t matter how tall those orders may be. Along with the call comes the solution. Help and instructions come included. God may ask us to move. But even the strength to move, will be provided from above. Nothing has to rely solely on us or our capabilities. To do God-sized jobs, we will need God-sized wisdom, strength, and resources. And that is the joy of working with the Lord. We can do absolutely everything together with Him.

While some hear God´s wishes and take them as stern orders, others recognize the invitation. God never sends anyone far from Him, not even when He commands us to go. Any step for God is a spiritual step. Where there is God´s Spirit, there is help. Where the promised Spirit of God is, all things are possible. So, let us think nothing of the size of the order. Let us think of the joy each step with our Lord will bring. Every tiny step taken with our Savior is one on our walk with Him. We can go far by taking one step at a time. And, with God, there are no limitations on earth.

Dear Lord, Help us think nothing of the difficulties in stepping where You ask us to. Let us gladly step forward in confidence. Only let our confidence remain in You. With You calling, leading, empowering, and holding our hands, we can do anything You ask. Beyond any reward, we will have the pleasure of taking each step with You, the One we love. Amen

16. I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever: 17. the Spirit of truth, whom the world can’t receive, for it doesn’t see him and doesn’t know him. You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17 (WEB)

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.  Isaiah 41:10
