It can happen at any time. We are going through some daily routines when we become aware of God. It could be enlightenment from Him or simply the sensation of His presence. Whatever it is that we detect from the Divine will thrill the soul. It is our heart´s natural response to waking up to the glories of God. Praise will well up within us. Our soul will spring into song.
If we cannot detect any bubblings of praise, something can be done. Rewards are for those who seek them. Heights gained are reserved for the ones who climb. Walking with the Lord requires steps in His direction. So, we can get direct and determined with our steps. Take steps towards Christ. A few steps with the Lord can increase to many. The distance in our relationship will lessen with every inch we gain. Pretty soon, we will be enjoying the celestial embrace we seek. And our awareness will become more acute the closer we grow.
But let us take no one´s testimony as a substitution. Give no consenting amen without experiencing God´s presence for ourselves. Set the soul free to soar. Place our hearts close enough to the Savior today to be amazed. Step into the sunshine and give our souls a reason to praise the Lord!
Dear Lord, light a fire deep inside us to draw closer to You. As we turn, seeking You, give us thrills of awareness. Flash across our understandings and leave us breathless and bewildered. Grant us progress in our relationship that brings You into our day. Let each step we take draw us closer in spirit and joy. Be the object of our praise as our awareness increases. We pray. Amen!
