Step Out of the Boat

28. Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.” 29. He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. (Matthew 14:24-33)

The Disciples were all followers of Jesus. But only one stepped out of the boat that night on the troubled seas. Part of being a Christian is checking ourselves to see how much faith we truly have. For some, it is enough to cling together or stay in the boat. Others would rather be with their Savior, even if it means trusting Him more than our own senses.

There are more people in the boat today than ever. We cling together and let the wind and seas toss us. We need to look for Christ walking where no one else can. When He comes into view, ask Him if we can walk with Him. He will encourage us to step where others are afraid to go. It will be a big step. But if we keep our eyes on Him, the experience will be well worth it. Let´s walk with God today!

Dear Lord, some won´t see the need, and others will think it is too drastic. But let us step out of our comfort zone and get closer to You today. It will take a giant step of faith. But You are the giver of that. So please, provide what is lacking in us. Let us leave all else behind and get to where only You will hold us up, we pray. Amen
