The Revival We Seek

Seek revival. But only if it means that God´s presence eclipses our lives completely!

We talk of revival as if it were an earthly thing. But to a God-fearing, God-seeking soul, it can only mean a new flood of God´s Spirit pouring over those seeking Him. If the revival we seek is to increase the number of people in our church services, we are seeking something less. If revival for us means cleaning up how we walk or talk, it also falls short. Any outpouring of God´s presence will revive the bond between us and God.

So, let every believer alive pray for revival. Only let our revival bring a greater need to be with God. Ask that the revival we experience is the Lord´s presence flooding into our lives. Let the Holy Spirit drown out all other distractions.

Dear Lord, come to us anew. Grow our relationship in ways we never imagined. Lift us to a new walk with You. Make our bond sweeter, tighter, and more inclusive. Revive our awareness of Your presence. The Universe is Yours. And so are these hearts. Fill them now with You, we pray. Amen

Acts 2:1-4  ESV / When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Joel 2:28  ESV / “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.

Acts 2:38  ESV / And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:8  ESV / But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Isaiah 44:3  ESV / For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.
