Whatever it Takes to Encounter God

Moments in the piercing brightness of God´s glory burn away all else. In the immediate presence of God, the believer is left undone. We have no defense or convictions strong enough to withstand His righteous eyes. There, naked and exposed, we finally see that Christ is our key to all of God´s mercies. He is our ticket into the arms of the Father forever. So, how do we get into the presence of our Victorious King?

To come into the Divine Presence, we will need to leave ourselves and our world behind. Not everyone is willing to do that. Most of us will cling to our ways. Yet there are still some shining souls that press that close to Him. Their testimonies encourage us.

The place to start is always on our knees. Deep, sincere prayer is the channel through which mortals connect with the Lord. It shows intention on our side and jumps way ahead of theories and declarations. Follow it up by digging deep within our soul, heaping desire for God on top of a dire need for Him. Persistence plays its part. But, all the while a believer is seeking the presence of God, they are walking down their most pleasing path. With God is where their souls yearn to be, love to be, and will only be at home. So press on, oh blessed explorer! Your journey is going to be the experience of a lifetime! Shoot for above the stars! Your next encounter will come with the help of the Holy Spirit. Seek on!

Dear Lord, we cannot settle for a religion that does not bring us into contact with You. Come, examine our souls now. Look deep within. Expose anything that holds us back from experiencing Your presence. We need to meet You. Give us acute awareness. Let us know You are here. Make this desire so intense that we cannot live without it. We are tired of notions, opinions, and hollow beliefs. Open our eyes and ears now while there is still time for us to engage with You. Then hold us when the brilliance of Your presence dawns upon us. In Your name, we pray. Amen
