We Get Nowhere Without the Holy Spirit

We can go nowhere in God´s kingdom without the presence of the Holy Spirit. Seek Him until there is more of Him in us than ourselves.

Taking on the name of a Christian and living a Christian life can be a simple enough thing to do. But let the fledgling in faith aspire to a deeper walk with God, and we will need help. If any lasting and genuine connection is sought, then we need the Holy Spirit. God sees into our souls. He knows which of us will take our religious notions that far. So He pours His Spirit into those who seek Him. The opposite is also true. If God does not see in our hearts that we truly desire Him, none of His Spirit will be wasted on us. We get the call, and what we do with it is up to us.

The promised Holy Spirit is the designated Helper. He walks every believer through this life and into the Kingdom of God. He shows us the Father and the Son. The Spirit speaks to the Father for us, even when we do not know what to say. (Romans 8:26) He reminds us of our Savior´s teachings. Walking us through Christ´s words, He will show us that what is born of flesh is flesh. But what is born of Spirit is Spirit. (John 3:5-6)

So, let those who are so inclined press on. Seek the movement and presence of the Holy Spirit as the essential quality of our faith. Never rest until God is at home inside of us. Let Him move us as He sees fit. The more of God´s Spirit we get into us, the more God´s kingdom looms into sight.

Dear Lord, this time we must get insistent. Please send us Your Spirit. Pour it upon Your children. We need it or will never get through this maze we call life. Give us our counselor. Give us guidance and step-by-step help all through our day. We need You, here, in us! Be our God, and let us be Your people. Mark us with Your Spirit so that we will be with You always. Amen
