The conversation was getting heated. It was a family dinner. Someone suggested it was not the right time for either politics or religion. But it was too late. Opinions were flying. And nobody wanted their beliefs to be trampled on. It is times like these when one can see how clever evil is at undermining God´s plan to save His children. If we are not careful, darkness will creep in and steal our chances of being with God. Nobody escapes unscathed.
It takes a sharp eye these days to know how to step. Religious opinions abound. Each denomination has a slightly different take on how to get where God wants us to be. We all hear Christ’s call to come to Him. It should be a clear direction. Then, the deceiver starts his ugly work. If he can confuse us, souls will fall short of where they are intended to be.
Some call the Son of God THE TRUTH. He was sent to us with a heavy price to pay. He came to become the Way, the Truth, and the Light. Coming to know Him brings us to where we need to be. But don´t let us confuse the issue. It is Him. It is all about Him. It is to Him we come. It is to Him we look. Never is it about the words He said as if we could separate them from Him. So let´s not even try. Step close. Then let us work on making our relationship even closer.
Dear Lord, confusion tries to keep Your flock from finding You. Yet we know that some still will. Help us be among the few who see our need for Your presence. Let us drop every other notion and work on our relationship with You. Heighten our awareness. Let us seek Your presence in every thought and action. Come. Be with us in our day, we pray. Amen
